Dr. Fredy Vides

Associate Professor of Mathematical Engineering, Department of Applied Mathematics, UNAH.

I am a mathematical engineer conducting research in structure-preserving function approximation
and its applications in data-driven modeling, predictive and prescriptive analytics.

My main research areas are: structure-preserving function approximation, optimization and control,
system identification, model reduction and model simplification. I am particularly interested in
neural network representation of nonlinear dynamic systems with applications to the study of
industrial and financial processes.

I am currently serving as Associate Professor of Mathematical Engineering at UNAH in Tegucigalpa.

I am a member of the International Federation of Automatic Control IFAC.
